Most National associations for the practice of Polarity Therapy have detailed and extensive codes of conduct that the members are expected to uphold. Many practitioners of Polarity Therapy are also members of other organisations or professional bodies in various fields that also have their own codes of conduct. What could perhaps be called an ethical approach to life is intrinsically linked to personal beliefs and values but these are an ever changing spectrum as we integrate our life experience.
In the larger context of Polarity Principles ethics are synonymous with a personal experience of and alignment with one's personal life force and its harmonious relationship to source energy.
The Ethical Guidelines below are version 1. alpha Dec 2010 and are based on the four fundamental principles of Respect, Competence, Responsibility and Integrity that underpin the ethical documents in all professions.
International Polarity Education Alliance Ethical Guidelines
Definition of Terms
International Polarity Education Alliance: Herein after referred to as the “Polarity Alliance.”
Energy Principles Practitioner: A person who practices and shares the Polarity Energy Principles set forth in the Polarity Alliance Open Source Standards Document in their life.
Polarity Therapy Professional: is a person whose primary practice is Polarity Therapy as set forth in the Polarity Alliance Open Source Standards Document .
Integrative Polarity Practitioner: An Integrative Polarity practitioner is a person who meets all requirements to practice a healing art and integrates the Polarity Principles set forth in the Polarity Alliance Open Source Standards Document into their professional healing arts practice.
Polarity Educator: A Polarity Practitioner who teaches the Polarity principles set forth in the Polarity Alliance Open Source Standards Document to students. The Polarity Educator acknowledges that the Polarity Energy Principles can be integrated into and taught through any modality including the healing arts, the arts, martial arts, sports, architecture and design.
Energy Principles Practitioner and Polarity Therapy Professional
The Practitioner or the Professional will: -
- Value the worth and dignity of every person, the pursuit of truth, devotion to excellence, and acquisition of knowledge.
- Recognize that the achievement of Polarity principles is an ongoing learning process that requires the freedom to learn through personal experience.
- Acknowledge that they are ongoing learners of Polarity Energy Principles who are sharing their experience of their learning process to the best of their ability.
- Take steps to manage personal stress through application of Polarity Energy Principles in their life in order to maintain their own mental health in pursit of higher states of wellness and the constant refinement of their knowledge of Polarity Energy Principles.
Integrative Polarity Practitioner
In addition to the guidelines above the Integrative Polarity Practitioner will: -
- Always be honest and accurate about their qualifications and the effectiveness of the services which they offer. They treat others in a fair, open and straightforward manner, honor professional commitments, and act to clarify any confusion about their role or responsibilities.
- Meet all qualifications to practice the healing arts required by local, state, provincial, national and international law .
- Follow the ethical code set forth by their chosen healing arts profession.
Polarity Educator
The Polarity Educator will: -
- Always be primarily concerned for the student and for the development of the student's potential. The educator will therefore strive for growth and will seek to exercise the best judgment and integrity in guiding a student in learning Polarity Energy Principles.
- Be aware of the importance of maintaining the respect and confidence of one's colleagues, of students and of other members of the community and strives to achieve and sustain the highest degree of conduct.
- Make every reasonable effort to protect the student from conditions harmful to learning and/or to the student's mental and/or physical health and/or safety.
- Always supports a students independent actions in pursuit of learning.
- Support student access to integrating diverse points of view through Polarity Energy Principles.
