About Shelby

I began my bodywork journey at Arizona School of Integrative Studies in 2015. Here I learned from a diverse and well practiced group of individuals who love their work. In these moments, my integrative ‘massage’ bodywork includes neuromuscular therapy, ashiatsu, tui na, thai table work, connective tissue therapy, lymphatic drainage, Trager, Craniosacral and Polarity Therapy.
I find that my natural listening abilities provide a deep sense of relief for most beings. My draw to Polarity Therapy becomes stronger by the moment, as I invigorate my natural listening abilities through meditation, asking questions, and sharing in groups. In bodywork, I offer key principles from Dr. Stone’s Polarity Model including the three modes of touch: sattvic, rajasic and tamasic. Further, the elements speak to me deeply in understanding each individuals system; with the vision of electromagnetic fields and associations to the matter of our bodies. I follow the individuals inner wisdom through listening, and offer direction for movement of energy through matter toward points of balance with the Polarity Model and awareness of TCM meridians.
Recently, I have begun to explore more of the elemental currents in self through a hatha yoga practice that recognizes the Polarity Model called EmPowerFlow. I have also begun a personal Tai Chi practice that has caused the development of profound awareness in Qi movement in our systems. I continue to cultivate conversation of self help through Polarity bodywork, nutrition, meditation and yoga exercise.
Special thank you to my bodywork mentor, Suellen Trumbour-Cheney, for remaining present with me in my wildly transformational life. With your support I am grounded in the notion that all manner of wondrous things are possible. Special thank you to my yoga mentors, Eleanora Lipton and Donna Futrell, for inviting EmPowerFlow into my life. With your support I am steadfast in approaching my body question marks and beyond. Thank you Dr. Stone for having the courage and tenacity to ask questions that the eyes may not see on their own. Thank you for reading…
